A Friend of Unfair Park shot us a link to an audio-video aggregator from the Texas coast, which, from the looks of it, compiles the raw, off-air video from pretty much anyone who’s got a news camera down there in advance of Ike’s landfall late tonight or early Saturday morning. At least, that’s what I think it is. It’s streaming after the jump.

Also, this just in from City Hall: “The current registered head count at the Dallas Convention Center Shelter is 1066. Dallas Animal Services Pet Shelter update: 64 dogs, 8 cats, and 5 birds.” –Robert Wilonsky

Update: A Friend of Unfair Park who also does a lot of volunteer work with the Red Cross points us to this Dallas Area Chapter posting today concerning the desperate need for volunteers, blood and money. To the latter point: “Hurricane Gustav is expected to cost the Red Cross around $70 million, with only 3% of that amount raised. In the meantime, the Red Cross is faced with the unknown challenges of Hurricane Ike.”
