With the events of the last week and passing of one of Austin’s music community, it’s become clear just how loved Esme was across the whole state.
Any proceeds, merch sales or tips from tonight’s Good Luck Karaoke at Double Wide — c’mon, you’ve been to one; they’re a drunken mess of a good time — will be donated to Esme’s funeral expenses and the Girls Rock Camp. In a message from Good Luck coordinator Josh Hammertimez (also one of Esme’s many friends), he says he hopes the camp will be renamed in her honor. And don’t worry if you can’t sing well; that’s why Autotune was invented.
