The latest issue of Newsweek IDs the latest and greatest way to make money since Ponzi schemes: iPhone applications. Says one Austin-based developer, “It’s kind of a gold rush.” Which, nice segue, leads us to the media release that landed in the in-box a couple of days back from yet another Dallas-based company developing games for the iPhone: Blockdot on N. Central Expressway, the Kewlboxers who, earlier this month, dropped word-game fave Chicktionary into the Applications bin for a cool $1.99, which makes it cheaper than chess. –Robert Wilonsky
