The amazing thing is, Bobby Patterson still wears this jacket on stage — like, 35 or so years after this photo was taken.
Well, I was going to post an MP3 of Bobby Patterson’s “Quiet! Do Not Disturb” in advance of his show tomorrow night at the Sons of Hermann Hall. Then I found the recently made video posted below; hey, is that Adam Goldberg? But, please tell me you need no prodding to attend the show tomorrow; if there’s a better one-two combo in town that the man for whom soul is his music and Shibboleth, who’re as close to the MGs as the alphabet will allow, we’ve yet to hear it. We witnessed this same throwdown a couple of months ago, and it’s a top-tenner, far as we’re concerned. Patterson’s never sounded better — or looked it, for that matter. So go, take care of business, damn it, or tear yo’ ass. –Robert Wilonsky
