Some good news today out of American Werewolf Academy camp: Apparently, the band’s been getting some radio love both domestically and across the pond.

The song “Company of Owls,” off the band’s new disc, Triceratops (which Jesse Hughey diligently reviewed in this wee’s paper), has popped up on the playlist of New Jersey’s WFMU. And, perhaps more impressive, this U.K. Internet radio show starts each broadcast with AWA’s “Rock Show Tonight,” from the band’s Devil, Spit It Out album.

High fives all around, fellas.

Because, really, is there such a thing as too much Rod Stewart-esque-fronted power pop on a Friday afternoon? You can catch AWA mid-Hurricane Ike strike on Saturday night at The Double Wide alongside Pennsylvania’s indie rockers The Shackletons and Dallas’ own electro-pop act Sparklepussy Barbie. —Pete Freedman
