The guy and gal of Smile Smile have been staying pretty busy of late: The duo just got back from tour and is now gearing up for another one that leaves this week, which will take the band up the east coast to New York City to perform at the CMJ Festival, and then on through to Canada before they return home.
And this tour, which comes in the second major push behind the band’s sophomore album with Kirtland Records, Truth on Tape, will see the band with a few changes. Now, on the road, the band will employ a drummer and a bass player in its set-up.
So, yeah, the band’s staying busy–especially guitarist Ryan Hamilton, who has also recently wrapped the recording of a new project, People on Vacation, which finds him collaborating with his former tourmate, Jaret Reddick, frontman of Bowling For Soup.
But the Smile Smile trained hasn’t slowed in the face of this new project’s sprouting up. Just for kicks, it seems, the band recently recorded a cover version of Blink-182’s “Dammit,” which the band has been known to cover in live settings.
Hamilton was kind enough to pass the recorded version of the cover along to DC9 readers as a free download, too. Grab it after the jump.
