If the Dallas Observer’s Brewfest is anything, it’s a dynamic event. The first few years the sudsy celebration was held at the zoo until someone threw a can of Dale’s Pale Ale at a flamingo and our editor out-wrestled a gorilla. Then we moved the event to the Arts District where things felt more classy and there was significantly less poop smell. This year Brewfest moves to the Farmers Market, another location where there will be plenty of room to move around and “sample” so much beer.

Actually, we’re expecting more than 150 beers, which is far more than one human could possibly “sample,” so you could really make a day of it.

The event isn’t until September 13, which is pretty far away, but if you purchase your tickets now, you can save a little scratch to put towards your summer keg party fund. Tickets officially go on sale Friday, but just for you City of Aters, starting at 10 a.m. today if you go online here (www.ticketfly.com/event/600187) and enter the promo code CITYOFATE, you can save $10 off regular prices. That’s $55 for a VIP ticket that will get you in the door at 6 p.m., an hour before the cheap people who buy the regular tickets flood the “sampling” booths. There’s also a VIP lounge where you get access to special food and can throw scraps at the peasants. Regular tickets cost $25 with the promo code. VIP and regular ducats are $55 and $90 at the door, so get on this now.

The special offer ends at 10 p.m. July 10.

Will you step up to support Dallas Observer this year?
