CBS DFW.com’s most valuable food blogger award, with which we quibbled a while back, has been announced with little fanfare. A small announcement has been added to the voting page, which reads:

Congratulations Dallas MVB’S CBS DFW’ss inaugural Most Valuable Blogger winners have been announced! We want to thank everyone that participated and to congratulate all of our MVB winners! The full list of winners can be found below.

Feastcraft has been crowned with the peoples choice. You might recognize the guy if you read City of Ate. He’s written posts on wurst, food trucks, In-and-Out Burger, and dining in Dallas. On his own blog he covers cooking techniques, behind-the-scenes restaurant happenings, and this stunner, a first-person written about a lonely night at a bar. Congratulations to Jonas Luster.

The editors picked Daniel Vaughn’s Full Custom Gospel BBQ. You may have heard of him. He’s been kicking ass all over the state of Texas, cholesterol be damned, eating more barbecue than any one person should even consider. He’s turning that blog into a bit of a writing career, penning pieces for Texas Monthly, D Magazine, and a book that’s in the works.

Dallas, make your New Year’s Resolution Count!

We’re $10,000 away from reaching our $30,000 year-end fundraising goal. Your support could be what pushes us over the top. If our work has kept you informed, helped you understand a complex issue, or better connected you to your community, please consider making a contribution today.

$30,000

Two weeks ago I penned a post challenging the contest’s fairness and wondering if the effort would really turn up some of DFW’s best blogging. I think they’ve ended up with two top-notch bloggers, professionals be damned. What do you guys think? Are feastcraft, and Full Custom Gospel BBQ, really DFW’s best food blogs? And who was missing from the contest?
