Check The Trailer For Dallas Don’t Dance, We Boogie, The Upcoming Documentary About The D-Town Boogie.

Pop on over to DallasBoogie.net, or visit this YouTube link, and you’ll see the trailer for an upcoming documentary called Dallas Don’t Dance, We Boogie, which focuses on the local hip-hop movement, the D-Town Boogie, and the love and hate it inspires amongst rap fans both local and otherwise. It’s a pretty interesting looking trailer, featuring interviews with Dallas rapper Trai’D, Dallas dancer and the inspiration for one of the scene’s most popular songs, Mr. Hit Dat Hoe, and the man behind the proliferation of the whole movement in the club scene, DJ Drop, among others. Could be an interesting film–if only because it appears to ask the question of whether the D-Town Boogie movement is a respectable one. Granted, it looks like the standpoint from which it answers said question is largely biased, but, whatever, it’s a discussion starter, to say the least.

In other news, last night on Twitter, hip-hop producer Ryan Hitz, who came up with the beat for The GS Boyz‘s “Stanky Legg” admitted that even he now hates the song–an interesting development indeed, even if his reasoning is kind of bizarre/hilarious. Tweeted the producer: “I gave black ppl [sic] another annoying family reunion song.”
