The bleakest of Black Fridays at a New York Wal-Mart, where a temporary employee was trampled to death by bargain-hunters who didn’t so much as slow down while rescue workers tried to save the man’s life. Not so savage a scene at a Dallas Best Buy, where the Associated Press set up shop to meet and greet the deal-seekers, at least one of whom had camped out for 23 hours to save a few bucks.
