Couple of days ago, the Discovery Channel’s Planet Green site posted its “Green City Guide: Dallas,” wherein it offers suggestions for those travelers to town “looking for a rootin’-tootin’ green time.” In other words, places to eat, shop and stay and ways to get there, which is not what I was hoping for when I read the phrase “rootin’-tootin’ green time.” Nonetheless, one comment wonders how much research really went into the piece, as its Dallas Zoo entry notes: “African elephants, Jenny and Keke – who generate 300 pounds of waste per day — are behind (pun intended!) the zoo’s alternative energy mission.” Um, um. –Robert Wilonsky
