Got two hours to kill? Then, by all means, give the above clip of Miss Erykah Badu talking to the folks at the Red Bull Music Academy a watch and hear her talk about her sonic evolution, her musical upbringing and the debt she owes to artists such as J Dilla.

Alas, if you don’t have two hours — and who does? — then the five-and-a-half-minute streaming treat you’ll find after the jump is more likely your speed. The song, you may recall, comes courtesy of the upcoming Hyundai- and Gammys-backed collaboration documentary called Re:Generation and finds Badu collaborating with an impressive collection of artists — Mark Ronson, Mos Def and Tomrbone Shorty, plus members of the Dap-Kings and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The song was recorded in New Orleans, and sounds like it.

It also features one of Badu’s all-time great opening lyrics: “Yo momma don’t wear no drawers.”
