This has been around a long time and so far viewed by a few thousand, but till I accidentally came across it moments ago, I’d never seen this video — a virtual fly-through of the Woodall Rodgers Deck Park currently under construction. Ah, now it all makes sense. Just don’t tell Schutze. Watch now, because foundation folks tell Unfair Park a longer and significantly updated sneak peak is forthcoming Monday. Regardless, much more exciting than watching the construction cam.
Incidentally, we do have breaking news: There’s a press conference scheduled at the Park’s offices Monday afternoon to announce a “major donation,” as it’s been put to us. When I asked, “How major?” I was told, “Pretty major.” A press release is forthcoming later today.
Update at 3:42 p.m.: We know a little more about the donation, which will be announced at 4 p.m. Monday during a press conference featuring Mayor Tom Leppert, members of the city council and other bigwigs. Lessee here … “The Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation is excited to announce a major donation from a corporation with strong ties to and a love for Downtown Dallas. This gift serves as the lead donation in the final phase of The Park’s capital campaign.”
So, who could that be? AT&T, maybe? Oncor? Sanger-Harris? What?
