Denton’s Werewolf Therewolf has been punishing audiences (in a good way) since 2008, but this happy little quintet didn’t get around to releasing their debut EP until February of this year. The EP is called Therecastle, and it’s a beast of a record, a seething statement of purpose that gloriously revels in influences such as Thrice and UnderOath.

Loud and relatively complex, the songs of Werewolf Therewolf feature a nice, tongue-in-cheek dose of humor and humility. Also some emo-tinged vocals.

But it’s pretty impressive nonetheless. And bassist Carlo Decanini was kind enough to make available one of the EP’s best cuts, “Mercy Attire,” for the downloading pleasure of DC-9 readers. How nice of Carlo. Check it out after the jump.

Bonus mp3:

If you enjoyed that taste of metal, be sure to check the band out
tonight at The Boiler Room. It’s going to be a special evening for
Werewolf Therewolf, as original singer Chad Hemmeline is making his final
performance with the band. After this show, former
Aberrant Lines
frontman Daniel Galvan will take over “singing” duties. Decanini promises other “suprises” in store for all who attend tonight’s
show. So even if the moon’s not full, tonight might be a good night to
check out a werewolf.
