Some blues you can use: Tonight at Dan’s Silverleaf in Denton, the 88-year-old Pops Carter will bust out his hardcore blues, funk and soul sound to teach the young folk a thing or two.

Don’t know Carter? You should; he’s been living in Denton since 1969.

In the past, Carter has sung with B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughn. And his wife, Minnie Lee, is the cousin of Texas blues legend Lightnin’ Hopkins. Talk about blues legitimacy.
