Rocking out as a duo since 1987, Chicago’s Local H has been alternative since before alt-rock became a pejorative term.

The band’s “Bound For The Floor” from As Good As Dead was practically inescapable on KDGE back in 1996, and can still be heard every now and then on the station that still can’t believe Kurt Cobain is dead. But with its energetic live shows and well-received followup album Pack Up The Cats, the band escaped being lumped in with the glut of mid-nineties post-grunge one-hit wonders–and even reappeared on the pop-culture radar a couple years back with a cover of Britney Spears’ “Toxic.”

Thanks to John Iskander at Parade of Flesh, you and a friend can relive your ’90s memories, sing along with “Toxic” or both tonight at the Lounge On Elm Street. Just be the first to e-mail me with the subject “Keep It Copacetic” and you’ll win a pair of tickets to the show.

Be sure to include your first and last name, which will be forwarded to Iskander to be included on the guest list.

Update: Contest is over. Congrats to the winner.
