Have we mentioned yet how stoked we are about tonight’s Phosphorescent show at The Kessler? Oh yeah, I guess we have. Writes Noah W. Bailey in this week’s print supplement to DC9:

…Phosphorescent’s Matthew Houck is that rare musician almost everyone can agree on, whether they’re pretentious indie-rockers or stubbornly twangy Americana fans. The recently released Here’s To Taking It Easy sees Houck settling into a comfortable, softly psychedelic groove with his road band, mixing SoCal country-rock rave-ups with Kristofferson-worthy weepers — “The Mermaid Parade” is easily one of the best break-up laments in recent memory — to create Houck’s fourth straight masterpiece.

Tickets are $12 to $14, available at Good Records or through Front Gate. And, says the Kessler’s Jeff Liles, there’s a good chance it could sell out, much as he hates the thought of turning anyone away. But thanks to booking agent Kris Youmans, you have the chance to win a pair of free tickets to the show — which also includes Dallas Family Band, DJ CeePee and Shiny Around The Edges. Just be one of the first two people to e-mail me with the subject “Here’s To Willie” and you’ll be on the list at the door with a plus-one guest spot. Don’t forget to include your full name.

Update: Contest over. Congratulations to our winners.
