Woke up this morning to find in the in-box this six-minute blast from the past courtesy — who else? — the great George Gimarc, who’s got a treat for every occasion. It’s a New Year’s Day in the life of KAFM in 1973, shortly before the then-year-old progressive-rock outlet perched at 92.5 went Top 40 and, eventually, Outlaw Country. Ends with some Boz Scaggs, but, if nothing else, where else at this late date can you hear “Razor” by Jack Schechtman off his album From Soup to Nuts. Jack who from wha to hunh? Exactly. Happy New Year. This oughta sober you up.
