Since we’ve already got Baboon on the brain today — have you seen the insane slideshow from last night’s Scratch Acid show yet? — let’s add one more bit of news. Kirtland Records will be releasing the debut album from The Boom Boom Box, featuring members of Baboon, Ghostcar and Pleasant Grove, in late January.

Titled Until Your Eyes Get Used to the Darkness, it features the same sawing, jittery, driving rock ‘n’ roll you’ve come to expect from those aforementioned bands, and follows up a 2008 EP. Plus, a deadly robot looks like he’s about to snap the arms off a businessman on the cover.
