The folks in charge of the LBJ Express project send word: A month after they called off demolition plans at the very last minute, citing safety concerns, they’re finally going to tear down all of the pedestrian walkway over 635 this weekend, after some of it was taken down in late September. Not only that, but the heavily trafficked Marsh Lane bridge will also be partially demolished. All of which means major traffic tie-ups, like those sneak-peaked here, beginning Friday night and lasting through Monday morning.
Hence the bold-faced warning posted last night amongst the weekend’s details: “Drivers are strongly encouraged to take alternate routes during the weekend to access local businesses or to get across the LBJ corridor.” Which should only make this weekend’s second Forest Lane Cruise Reunion that much more awesomer.
