Friday night our nightlife team made a long-overdue return to Zubar to catch Broken Teeth (Prince William & Keith P) and Jason Mundo in the back room, and DJ Select and DJ A1 spinning classic hip hop, reggae and dancehall in the front, ever-mindful not to run afoul of the law by making too much noise.
Saturday night took them to Lizard Lounge, where Pat Mahoney of LCD Soundsystem and Hercules & Love Affair spun for the assembled crowd of hipsters and go go dancers. The Lek Brothers report one alarming side effect of the smoking ban — nothing out there to cover up the urine smell in the clubs. OK, then!
Photos from the clubs are up in this week’s Night Moves set.
