Dallas Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway on Dr. Phil today
If you don’t have the time or the energy to watch today’s episode of Dr. Phil, devoted entirely to “The Baggy Pants Debate,” his TV show’s Web will do just fine, with a preview full of slideshow photos and quotes from today’s star players. Among the stars of today’s show: Dallas Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway (“It’s just a simple thing about take that target off your back and yank these pants up, and let’s find something else to do”), members of the Dallas-based Hip Hop Government and Rev. Al Sharpton, who’s behind the intentions of the campaign (heh) but not sure it’s the kind of thing you can make, ya know, a law.
One thing the transcript can’t properly communicate: the Hidden Camera Experiment, wherein “two teens with baggy pants head to the mall in Dallas, to see how the public reacts.” Then again, don’t expect much: Reports one of the teens, “People now are used to seeing butts hanging out.” I blame country music. –Robert Wilonsky
