Editor & Publisher has picked up on Daily Cartoonist blogger Alan Gardner’s item concerning The Dallas Morning News‘s decision to drop 14 comic strips. Of course, the paper is conducting a poll to see which strip readers would like returned to the funny pages; but comments posted to Gardner’s item suggests this is last straw among some readers — no, really. As of right now, the consensus among 4,600 online voters has The Wizard of Id and B.C. in a tight race in which William Ayers and Sarah Palin will serve as tie-breakers if need be. –Robert Wilonsky
