(Photos) Our Ten Favorite Flugtag Crashes

Gravity is a funny thing. Despite months of planning and trial runs, each of those dedicated Flugtag experimenters inevitably faced The Big Fall.

Sometimes it happened right off the ramp. Others were given a few brief moments of flight before it all came crashing down. Either way, we caught these water plunges in photos from our Observer Beach stake-out.

We sent photographers Mike Mezeul and Mike Brooks to capture the airborne pilots and the vessels they manned, then we put together a list of our ten favorites. Now, let’s cheer-on those who were braver than us and celebrate the gravity’s predictability.
