Fortune Field’s a pretty new band on the scene, one that combines some rootsy elements with a little bit of a rock influence — and well enough, we’d say, where you should pretty much immediately elevate these dudes to “Local Band to Watch” status in your little black book. Because, aside from this baby band’s music being worth the listen, the dudes also have their visual aspects on lock, too, as the above poster promoting their Saturday night show at Dada certainly goes to show.

Designed by Sean Berry, it’s a fairly simple concept, using a brightly colored design scheme not wholly unlike the one used on Calhoun’s Heavy Sugar album
art. The difference here, however, comes in the clever used of negative
space to balance things out and draw the eye to the middle of the
design, wherein all the pertinent information about this show is place
— the date, the venue, the band name and even their set time.

Interestingly enough, this isn’t even the sole good-looking flier
promoting this show, which is also set to feature sets from Soviet and
The Hope Trust. Below, check out another nice option designed by
Sundress and Western Giant guitarist Kennon Talley, which, in another
week, very well could’ve walked with our Poster of the Week nod.

Instead, though, we’re gonna honor Berry’s design. Because, dammit, it’s just so pretty. And we like pretty.

Think your poster is better than this one? Want to see one of your
designs get honored next week? Drop us an email with an image promoting
an upcoming show right here. Cool? Cool. Thanks!
