There’s a lot to like about this crisp design promoting a killer bill on Friday night at 2826 Arnetic — a show that promises performances from some of the region’s finest up-and-coming rap talents.
Obviously, like so many other events happening this weekend, this event,
called “The Super Hip-Hop Bowl,” is certainly trying to capitalize on
the big event taking place in Arlington on Sunday evening. In name,
definitely. But also in design. Using classic football imagery — a foam
finger, triangular flags and a bold, college-like typeface — this
poster certainly conjures an idea of the Big Game.
It also promotes the hip-hop aspects — see the microphone in the foam
finger, and the cord running the length of the poster. It does so
smartly, too: Note the cord wrapping in an out of the text announcing
the performers, which helps tie everything — the text, the idea — of
this poster together.
And I like the color scheme.
Think your poster is better? Want to see one of your designs get honored
next week? Drop us an e-mail
with an image promoting an upcoming show right here. Oh, and, when possible, be sure to do so at least a week in advance of the show. Thanks!
