Denton’s Dale Jones, when performing under his New Science Projects moniker, is a somewhat frightening and confusing character, one that dons face paint and refuses to play on stages and runs right up to his audience members only to scream into their face.
So it’s pretty fitting, then, that the poster advertising his new album is also frightening and confusing.
Featuring some sort of schematic diagram for what appears to be a hand
hook of sorts, this poster doesn’t really much sense. Last time I saw
him, Jones had both his hands. And I’m pretty sure someone would’ve told
me if he was involved in a freak accident.
Nonetheless, the poster does its job quite well — the images here are
startling enough to grab one’s attention, that’s for sure. And the used
paper background adds a certain mystique to it as well.
Beyond that, it’s pretty straightforward. The color scheme is simple.
The text is uniform. And it’s informative — beyond showing off the
surprisingly complicated set up for a hook hand, all the pertinent show
details are included.
Also, it’s not a design I’ve seen before. Major points there.
Think your poster is better? Want to see one of your designs get honored
next week? Drop us an e-mail
