Well, John Jurik’s poster for Roxmas 6 certainly puts holiday cheer in perspective. After pushing through lines of screaming children (and adults) at Wal-Mart and enduring Mariah Carey’s version of “All I Want For Christmas” 50 times a day, who wouldn’t want to thump Santa with a shovel and put him six feet under?
Still, there’s something calming in the imagery. Maybe it’s the symmetry – the round moon, the triangular pines, the perfectly square grave. Add to that the lineup for Roxmas 6, which takes place Saturday, December 10 at Deep Ellum spot 2826 Arnetic: Hardin Sweaty, Soviet, (A) Therapeutic Smile and Little Birds.
