Not only is it for a good cause, but, hey, check out that lettering!

It’d be one thing to just pick this poster because of the good cause behind the show it represents. But, no need, turns out: By forgoing standard image use and instead using hand-drawn lettering to turn all the pertinent info for this show into the shape of a guitar, this poster ends up conjuring as fitting an image as one could hope for in a show poster.

Sure, the use of a guitar may seem a little trite, but the clever–and also somewhat edgy–lettering certainly draws the eye. And once it has you, it’s impossible to not notice all the show details you’d need.

A very clever appropriation of text, for sure.

Update: Lindsey Henrie, publicist for the CF Concert Series, checks in to let us know a bit about the design: “The designer is Anna Bryant, she’s our main designer for CF Concert Series stuff. The logo which is in the middle, was done by O&H Brand Design.” So there you go. Well done.

Think your poster is better? Want to see one of your designs get honored next week? Then go ahead and drop us an email
with an image promoting an upcoming show right here. Oh, and be sure to do so at least a week in advance. Thanks!
