Seems we called the mayoral election much earlier than this. Alas, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway tells Our Man Downtown “prepare for a long night.” Maybe, maybe not: The numbers are slowly trickling in, with Dallas County now reporting that 235 of 400 precincts’ totals are in. And it’s getting a little closer, but not much. The Vote No’ers now have 29,847 votes for the toll road, or 53.26 percent of the 56,045 counted so far. Which means the pro-Prop. 1, anti-toll road contingent can count in their favor 26,198 votes, or 46.74 percent of the vote. –Robert Wilonsky
