Monday night, a weekend of outrage, stemming from a McKinney police officer pulling a gun on unarmed kids at a pool party before tackling and pinning an unarmed 14-year-old girl, culminated in a pair of protests in the North Texas suburb.

One group of protesters marched from Comstock Middle School to the pool, which was closed. Another gathered at McKinney police headquarters. Both groups called for the firing of McKinney police Cpl. Eric Casebolt, the officer filmed, as one parent of a kid at the party said, “acting like lunatic.” At both locations, demonstrators encountered small groups of people supporting Casebolt’s actions. In Craig Ranch, the subdivision where the gun-pulling and tackling took place, one person shouted “No Laws, No Justice,” according to The Dallas Morning News, mimicking the cadence of the protesters “No Justice, No Peace” refrain. Some white residents of Craig Ranch told the DMN they were temporarily leaving the enclave out of fear. At police headquarters, support for the cops was etched in sidewalk chalk.

Also emerging Monday thanks to WFAA was a new video of Casebolt, the officer those counter-protesters are supporting. Shot by Jahda Bakari, who attended the party, it shows a different angle of Casebolt’s pinning of Dajerria Becton, the 14-year-old. You can really see the benefit of Casebolt’s Krav Maga training, which was touted on his now taken down bio on Executive Self-Defense and Fitness’ website. Casebolt was listed as a “instructor trainee” at the business.
