The city of Mesquite just released the dates for this year’s Real. Texas. Festival. The seventh annual event will take place April 26-27 at Rodeo Center, located at 1818 Rodeo Drive.

This year’s musical lineup will feature newly minted restaurateur Pat Green among others. You can also expect another Hooters wing eating contest, lots of smoked meat, rodeo competitions and everything else that’s even tangentially related to Texas.

The Observer has covered the event a few times in the past. Check out Nick Rallo’s photographic ode to meat, and Jay Barker’s slide show depicting Real. Texas. Nightlife.

Tickets are $20 at the gate. Presale tickets are $10 and will be available March 22-April 14. For more information, visit www.realtexasfestival.com.
