Rev. Jeremiah Wright will actually be in Dallas this weekend, not Fort Worth.
On its Web site for the State of the Black Church Summit, which takes place this weekend, TCU’s Brite Divinity School reveals the new location for the Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s appearance — and, hey, now it’s smack dab in the 972. The weekend-long event, which was to be held on the TCU campus till the spotlight on Wright got too bright for organizers, will now take place at the Friendship-West Baptist Church on Wheatland Avenue.
The move makes sense, as Wright defender Dr. Frederick Haynes is senior pastor at the church. Also, in case you missed it, The Philadelphia Inquirer recently pointed out that Haynes is a finalist for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People’s presidency, which he confirmed over the weekend. –Robert Wilonsky
