It’s hard to think of much else today besides the news that legendary singer, actor and all-around badass David Bowie has passed away. But there is some positive news out there, especially for fans of classic rock, both young and old: Former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant is going on a tour of the southern United States this spring, and he’ll be paying a visit to Dallas in March with a show at The Bomb Factory.
Plant, whose former Zeppelin bandmate Jimmy Page is planning on his own tour in 2016 (his first in 20 years), last played Dallas three years ago at the Palladium with his band the Sensational Space Shifters. While he continues to show no interest in reuniting with the remaining members of the band that made him famous, Plant continues to stay plenty busy, with his most recent album, 2014’s Lullaby and…the Ceaseless Roar, met with critical praise and a new one currently in the works.
The 11-date tour will take place entirely in March and kicks off in Florida, eventually wrapping up with a four-date run in Texas. Dallas’ date lands on Tuesday, March 15. Joining Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters will be legendary Tacoma, Washington, garage rockers the Sonics, who came to town just last year for a gig at the Texas Theatre. (Talk about a change of locations.)
Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday, January 15, at 10 a.m. on The Bomb Factory website. Prices range from $45 to $250.
