Lots of news coming down the pipeline today on the local music video front, as two longtime area favorites debut new music videos and a third act — once a local, then not a local, and now a local once more — gets a little shine in the form of a taped performance.
Hit the jump to take it all in — the visuals, some pertinent information about those videos, and all that kind of jazz.
- First up: RTB2, who, back in March passed along to us a free download of their song “Goon,” the first single off their upcoming Stuart Sikes-produced affair, which is set for release this fall. Today, the duo of Ryan Thomas Becker and Grady Don Sandlin released the song’s accompanying music video, as shot by Data Knight Productions at the “ol’ dirty basement” of Denton’s J&J’s Pizza. There’s not much to the clip — just the band playing away. But, then again, that is the DOMA-winning Best Band’s strength, now, isn’t it? Watch it below:

- Another proud Denton outfit, Bowling for Soup, also has a new disc en route — Fishin’ for Woos, the band’s first release since 2009 and 11th overall, which is set for release tomorrow, in fact. Today, to get things rolling for tomorrow’s sales, no doubt, the band released the official music video for the new album’s lead single, “S-S-S-Saturday,” which, if nothing else, once again proves the band’s knack for writing catchy pop-punk hooks. The video itself, meanwhile, is a collection of clips featuring both the band and fans enjoying a typical Saturday night. Check it out:
- And, lastly, there’s the husband and wife duo of Burette and Gabrielle Douglas, also known as The Cush, who were once upon a time in ’90s area favorites Buck Jones, then formed this band, then moved to Vermont and, just recently, moved back to the region. Like Eisley before them, the band, which just joined the roster of Spune Records (Doug Burr, Seryn), stopped by to shoot a intimate performance session with the folks at Refueled magazine during their time at SXSW.
