Relationships have the power to change people. Building something from the ground up or even the restoration of something broken into something beautiful will inflate self esteem. In John Carpenter’s adaptation of the Stephen King novel Christine, we witness such a transformation in Arnie Cunningham. When the school nerd turns into an arrogant prick because of his restored Plymouth Fury, named Christine, his ass-whooping comes with a price — lives. Christine learns to self heal and seek revenge for Arnie’s sake. So, definitely head to Alamo Drafthouse on Monday at 8p.m. to learn about the destruction that can come equipped with relationships and how pride is the downfall of man, or maybe it’s demonic, sentient cars. Thanks a lot, Google. Admission is $7. Go to drafthouse.com to purchase tickets and for more info.
