This morning our inbox had a note about yet another North Texas act given the Daytrotter treatment. Fort Worth’s Whiskey Folk Ramblers recorded a four-song-session for the website, including tracks “Pies of Old Kylene” and “Leavin’ Here.”
The session highlights the band’s sinister gypsy — and, at times, klezmer — folk. And, if you can spare two dollars a month, you can hear the entire session for yourself over at Daytrotter. Of course, you can get a free one-week trial membership at no cost.
But if that’s too much red tape for you, check out Whiskey Folk Ramblers’ new video for “Gambling Preacher and His Daughter” below. It’s There Will Be Blood meets Leap of Faith.
