Hope Solo

Had no idea till this morning that Dallas was getting yet another pro sports franchise: a Women’s Professional Soccer team, matter of fact, beginning in April 2009. Only reason I know about it is this morning the WPS announced how it’d be filling its franchises here and in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New Jersey/New York, St. Louis and Washington, D.C.: with players from the U.S. Women’s National Team, who’ve already told the WPS where they want to live. Only, they won’t find out to which city they’re moving till September, after which time the teams will hold local tryouts in order to fill the rest of their rosters. Hope Solo, really, ain’t nothing wrong with Dallas. Nothing at all. You too Abby Wambach. –Robert Wilonsky
