Every week we highlight the best comedy of the coming weekend. Find more comedy events at dallasobserver.com/calendar.

Maz Jobrani at the Addison Improv A founding member of the Axis of Evil Comedy Tour, Jobrani likes to explore such safe topics as Iran’s wishy-washy nuclear program and Asians’ inability to drive. No one is safe, not even Jobrani himself — at the airport, he’s profiling himself. His stand up is all over late night — Leno, Ferguson and Kilborn, to name a few. He’ll be here this Thursday through Sunday.

Brandon T. Jackson at the Arlington Improv Perhaps best known as Alpha Chino from the crazy hit Tropic Thunder or Grover in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Jackson is making his name known in the stand up world. Whether he’s riffing on “broke problems” (shuffling into the bank when you’re poor) or doing impression of his comedic heros (see Chris Tucker and Chris Rock), his insights are spot on. He’ll be here Thursday through Sunday.

Brian Bradley at Hyena’s in Dallas A combination of traditional stand up, improv and acting, Bradley may just pull you on stage for his act. He spent seven years as a member of the Improv group at Disney’s Comedy Warehouse in Orlando, and he’s a regular member of the Comedy Store Players. Chatting with the audience and incorporating them into his act, you aren’t just at a show, you are the show. See him Thursday through Saturday.

Wine & Vine and DCH Diaries at Dallas Comedy House Alcohol plus six-second video clips gone viral equals one of two things: sure-fire hilarity or inescapable discomfort. Either way, win! Come check out Vine videos from DCH’s weekly Vine contest and stick around for the DCH Diaries, where some of DFW’s best comedians open up on stage. Past Diaries series have been The Valentine’s Series and Spring Break Forever — uplifting! This Thursday. Full bar.

Rx by Kate Fodor at the Kitchen Dog Theater Take big laughs and big pharma and you’ve got a funny little play called Rx. Meena hates her job editing stories about beef and pork (blech), and she hopes that Dr. Phil Gray can make it all better with a quick Rx. She signs up as the doctor’s medical trial guinea pig in hopes of finding some sanity. Meanwhile, Dr. Phil can’t escape the pressure from Allison, the pharmaceutical company’s marketing director, who will accept nothing less than great news. Tina Parker, Max Hartman and Martha Harms star. Directed by Christopher Carlos.
