Rock on, Jack. Rock on.
Jack White and the members of his kickass side project, The Raconteurs, made some big industry news last week, making the surprise announcement that they’ve got an album to release, like, right now. The idea behind that move–aside from just getting the music out to the people as fast as humanly possible–seems to be that the band wants to avoid sending out pre-release copies of the disc to the press. They want the fans to decide for themselves what they think.
(Me? As a member of the press, I could care less when I get the album. I just want to hear it.)
But, now, hot on the heels of that first announcement comes this: The Raconteurs are heading out on tour ASAP, too. They’ll be hitting Dallas at the House of Blues on Thursday, May 1. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.; tickets will run 35 bucks, and you can start buying them on March 21; your ticket sources: hob.com and ticketmaster.com. — Pete Freedman
