Stop-and-Think, American’s “grassroots” pro-Wright movement, has nice digs in Snider Plaza.
American Airlines Chief Executive Gerard Arpey recently gave an interview to the Chicago Tribune in which the Fort Worth-based carrier’s bossman talked about everything from the state of the airline industry (“troubled,” in a word) to why it’s so cramped in the back of American’s planes (people back there are cheap). No mention of the Wright Amendment, though; the only mention of Southwest is a reference to its inevitable assigning of seats. in other American-related news, I saw the Stop-and-Think headquarters Sunday in University Park’s Snider Plaza, on Rosedale Avenue, with a crisply painted-and-logo’d Capps Van & Car Rental van parked in front of cozy $531,000 digs next door to Bubba’s Fried Chicken, where Stop and Thinkers probably go for lunch from time to time. Funny thing is, every time they walk in the door they’re greeted by a “Repeal Wright” sticker on the door. Ah, but it’s Bubba’s. It’s worth it. –Robert Wilonsky
