Beyond the Black Rainbow began screening yesterday at Texas Theatre, with its official opening party happening tonight. The movie is the visual equivalent to drinking 8 shots of Firefly Sweet Tea vodka, getting in a Gravitron and then being chased through a house of mirrors. It’s going to fuck with your brain space, and I mean that in the best way possible.
To help coax you off of your emotional ledge, local acts Pinkish Black and Night Game Cult take the stage post-credits. You can also shake off your retro-futuristic survivalist tensions on the dance floor; allow djs Travis Box and George Quartz to heal you. Beyond the Black Rainbow starts digging in your psyche at 9 p.m. with afterparty scheduled for 10:30 p.m.
