Jay Fox owns the six local Up in Smoke shoppes, which are scattered across the DFW — from Uptown to Frisco. So, it’s no surprise he’s against Mayor Tom’s effort to ban smoking in Dallas bars, pool halls, even tobacco shops; his profits go up in smoke, dig? To that end, Fox is going on an all-out offensive against the mayor and groups like Smoke-Free Dallas with a PR campaign that includes this initial media release. An excerpt:
“Our opponents hired a couple of high-priced PR firms to help them pull the wool over the eyes of the public with a phony press conference and a slanted survey of 600 people. Council members should come to my stores where they can talk to thousands of people who are against further encroachment on their rights. And they don’t need to hire some high-powered PR agencies to take that survey.”
