Two Words You Don’t Wanna Hear Together: “Cheney” and “Beretta.”

This can’t be good news: Dick Cheney’s in town to speak to the World Affairs Council tomorrow at the Hyatt Regency. And he’s buying guns. (Well, maybe. Hunting clothes, at least.) This just in from a Friend of Unfair Park who works in Highland Park Village:

Just wanted to let you know, I work in Highland Park Village — quite a stir, Dick and Lynn Cheney shopping at Beretta Gallery, Secret Service and police everywhere! We stood across the lot and stared, of course. They waved as they drove away with bags in hand.

Tonight, Cheney’s also doing some fund-raising for Republican Sen. John Cornyn at a local abode. No doubt, it’s in the HP. –Robert Wilonsky
