$10,000

In the days leading up to Friday night’s How The Edge Stole Christmas, KDGE 102.1-FM The Edge‘s annual holiday music festival at Grand Prairie’s Verizon Theatre, the radio station talked up a big concert announcement that was to be made sometime during the show.

Turns out it was a pretty big announcement. Red Hot Chili Peppers have added a Dallas date to their ever expanding world tour. On Friday, March 9 (suspiciously close to South By Southwest), The Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform at American Airlines Center.

UPDATE 1/11/12: Red Hot Chili Peppers have rescheduled their sold-out March 9 show at American Airlines Center to October 2. Singer Anthony Kiedis is recovering from surgery due to a “crushed sesamoid bone.”
