School Of Seven Bells are still going strong despite the recent departure of their third member Claudia Deheza. They just announced an upcoming tour with Interpol, which kind of brings the band back to their origin.
See, as Alejandra Deheza explained in a recent article in the Observer, the members of blissed-out shoegaze band met when their previous bands were opening for Interpol on a tour in 2003. But this time around, it will be a family affair, now that guitarist Benjamin Curtis’ brother and former bandmate Brandon Curtis is a member of Interpol.
Their new record Disconnect From Desire has already yielded the amazing single “Windstorm,” which has been in heavy rotation at DC9 headquarters, and now they’ve released a video for their next single “I L U.”
The video, which features marionette sex, was directed by David Lowery and Dallas’ own Toby Halbrooks, who, aside from formerly being a member of The Polyphonic Spree, directed the video for “Half Asleep” from School Of Seven Bells’ debut album Alpinisms.
