A man of his word, Clear Channel’s Dallas market manager J.D. Freeman did in fact call back with some news concerning programming changes at the San Antonio-based conglomerate’s Dallas properties. As mentioned earlier, two KDMX-FM (Mix 102.9) on-air personalities were part of the mass layoffs today:

midday host Lisa Thomas and morning host Tony Zazza. The station’s also getting a new program director: Patrick Davis, who will continue to hold the title at KHKS-FM (Kiss 106.1). Mix’s PD, Rick O’Bryan, is now the assistant PD — and morning-drive co-host, where he’ll join Victoria Snee.

But Mix is also getting some out-of-town talent, including Cindy Spicer (who “used to live in Dallas,” Freeman says) and American Idol‘s Ryan Seacrest, who will now occupy the afternoon-drive slot with his show piped in from Los Angeles. All the changes begin on Monday.

Freeman, who sounds like a man who’s had a very long day, will not address how many folks Clear Channel let go locally today. But he does acknowledge that “everything’s fluid” and that there may be station shake-ups somewhere down the line. “These are tough economic times,” he says. “And as we go forward we’ll evaluate everything.”
