Pretty sure at some point early yesterday there were more police than protesters downtown — the only time I had trouble navigating traffic was at the barricades set up at various intersections, where there wasn’t a soul or sign in sight. But the boy and I were our way elsewhere. Our own Spike Johnson headed downtown to scope the scene at the 28,000-or-so-strong MegaMarch, and as evidenced by his slide show, the plaza ’round City Hall was packed with those pro-immigration reform and most definitely anti-Arizona — though it’d be way more surprising at this late date if there were a protest of any kind to which someone didn’t bring a sign bearing a swastika.
