This weekend Deep Ellum will shut down for the giant street party. The Deep Ellum Arts Festival will include art, music, food, alcohol, pets and other things that make people happy.
Here’s your guide to all the mayhem. Festival is open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. both Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Don’t think for a second you are going to be walking around looking at art and listening to music without some sort of piece of meat in your hand. And a beer. There will be enough food at this festival to kill someone. Good food, too. To buy the food, you need coupons. Coupons are sold by the 10s for $10.

Pet Parade
If your animal is well-trained and not a little shit who shits everywhere, then feel free to enter it into the festival’s pet parade. You can register online or at the Deep Ellum Bark Park at 11 a.m. Sunday. The parade begins at noon. There will be winners for Best Costume, Best Personality and Best Trick.
Art
The reason this festival exists in the first place. Art. So much art will be in Deep Ellum this weekend, including ceramics, digital art, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metalworks, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood and others. The artists and businesses are coming from all over the nation — everywhere from Missouri to California.
