My good friend and colleague Noah W. Bailey says that ever since he was a teenager, he’s fantasized about the Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris” playing at his wedding reception. [Editor’s note: This is pure fantasy on the part of Mr. Pulle.] He says that it’s a very romantic and sweet song and would remind his guests of the deep and abiding love he harbors for his bride. Besides, he says, the music of the Goo Goo Dolls, from “Name” to “Slide” to the cover of that Supertramp song, has formed the soundtrack to his wonderful life. The Goo Goo Dolls, along with Lifehouse, play the Smirnoff Music Centre on Friday. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Call 214-373-8000 or visit ticketmaster.com.
Fri., Aug. 31, 5:30 p.m.
